Colin Butler

BSc, C.Eng, M.I.Mech.E, Eur.Ing.

Colin is an independent consultant specialising in Project and Change Management. He works with clients in a range of industries throughout the UK and overseas, providing training and consultancy support to help implement projects that will deliver a step change in business performance. He has been involved in coaching and training for many years and is also an experienced presenter of project management topics on public seminars.

Before starting his consulting business, Colin was a Senior Manager with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), with responsibility for a major business improvement programme, designed to make a step change in site performance through the application of “Lean” and “6 Sigma” concepts.

Colin joined Glaxo in 1985 as a Senior Project Engineer. He quickly progressed to become Project Manager for a major capital investment programme. He subsequently held a range of management positions, leading high profile projects in support of the growth and development of GlaxoSmithKline business throughout the UK and overseas. His assignments have involved both large and small projects in addition to change management at international level.

Colin’s project experience encompasses conceptual design and construction of production facilities, design, development and installation of special purpose equipment, as well as a range of site development and business improvement programmes.

Colin trained as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice and gained a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer and holds a “Black Belt” in Lean and 6 Sigma techniques.
